Luke has been such a great eater. He loves anything we put in front of him. His favorite food right now is a banana. He loves eating one with his oatmeal in the morning. So far, he hasn't rejected any food we've tried. He's eating avacados (even guacamole at Chuy's the other night), brown rice mixed with different veggies- green beans, sweat peas, asparagus. He can even handle finely diced pieces of meat such as chicken and steak! We are mostly trying to feed him whatever we are eating for dinner, but he does get some organic baby food in the jar- mostly to take to school with him for lunch. He doesn't seem to like the pureed food as much, instead he likes "chewing" his food that we make and just finely dice for him. He is also drinking water from his sippy cup at meals now- and is
very proud of it! Every time he takes a drink, he gives us a huge smile! So far I have been very impressed with my pediatrician's feeding ideas- just dicing up our food instead of pureeing it seems to be working out great.
Luke ate his first "gourmet" meal tonight of steak, garlic and rosemary mashed potatoes and roasted asparagus and green beans. He loved it and finished off his plate! I was surprised that he didn't seem to mind the adult seasonings with the garlic, rosemary and a bit of pepper.
The adult plate above and Luke's plate below...
Delish! I would have been REALLY impressed if you would have shaped the food, well the asparagus and steak to look like asparagus and steak... like they do at the hospital... but I guess that's easier w/pureed food!
ReplyDeleteNothin' but the best for Mr. Corbell! Glad he is such a good little eater.
